In September the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) announced the launch of a $3 million nationwide advertising campaign to warn consumers how to avoid becoming victims of abusive lending when purchasing homes. The bilingual advertising campaign will roll out in newspaper ads in 20 cities plus the state of Mississippi. The campaign will run newspaper ads in mostly minority publications, but will also target Internet advertising and utilize faith-based and other community-based grassroots organizations to reinforce the message.
